President to Award 2005-2006 National Medals of Technology and National
Medals of Science Honoring Nation’s Leading Researchers, Inventors
and Innovators
Washington (July 24) – President George
W. Bush will present the 2005 and 2006 National Medals of Science and
Technology at a White House ceremony on Friday, July 27, at 2:00 pm.
The ceremony will be carried live by satellite feed and Web cast on
the White House Web site, http://www.whitehouse.gov.
Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez, whose agency administers the
National Medal of Technology program for the President, will attend
the ceremony with Dr. John H. Marburger, III, Director of the White
House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and Dr. Arden L. Bement,
Director of the National Science Foundation, which manages the National
Medal of Science program.
Who: President George W. Bush will present the National
Medal of Technology to seven individuals, three companies, and one four-person
team; and the National Medal of Science to 16 researchers. Complete

When: Friday, July 27, 2:00 pm.
